How Many Rain Boots is Wholesale 3

How to efficiently place a small batch order to a rain boots factory?

In recent years, there have been more and more small wholesale orders, especially with the rise of e-commerce. To obtain the best profits, e-commerce companies are no longer satisfied with purchasing products from local wholesalers, and instead seek cooperation with direct manufacturers. Expect to reduce the price difference in the middle. I have several customers who also engage in e-commerce. Their price positioning is very different from the market. However, they all have a big problem. Due to the small order volume, they cannot build their own brands and thus cannot maximize profits. At the same time, the lack of cooperation from manufacturers for small-volume orders also creates a headache for small-volume buyers.

As the foreign trade business manager of the rain boot factory, I have gone from the traditional foreign trade minimum order quantity of 3,000 rain boots per style to now being able to provide customers with small batch orders. Personally, I feel that this whole process of change can be said to be earth-shaking.

The problems encountered in small batch orders are far more complicated than those in large batch orders.

In 2024, if you also plan to try small batch orders to factories, then I strongly recommend that you check out the following suggestions:

1. Clarify product requirements

2. Choose the right factory

3. Get quotes and samples

4. Order negotiation and order confirmation

5. Arrange payment and production

6. Logistics and Receiving

7. Follow-up service and long-term cooperation

  1. Clarify product requirements

Having clear product requirements is very critical. This will save a lot of time for you and the factory, and avoid a lot of ineffective communication.

Clear product requirements, including the following aspects:

1. Types of rain boot.

First of all, our rain boots have men’s rain boots, women’s rain boots, and children’s rain boots.

And winter rain boots, like fixed fur inner or movable fur inner, are both available.

2. Appearance design

This is very important. You have a specific appearance and can contact the factory in a targeted manner. Because not every factory has rain boots with the look you need.

If you have your own design, welcome to show it to the factory, let us check if we could work or not based on the quantity you offered. If it can produce, it needs to sample development.

3. Color

The most popular rain boots on the market are black, but in recent years, candy colors have become more and more popular. However, the MOQ for bright candy colors is very high. Basically, there are 1,000 pairs of each color, mixed sizes. If you don’t have such a large minimum order quantity, you can consider choosing the colors currently being made by the shoe factory. In this case, your minimum order quantity will be much smaller, which can be 200 pairs of each color or even 100 pairs.

4. Materials

Raw materials of rain boots: Natural rubber, PVC. This should be easy to confirm. Also, there are other materials, I will introduce to you later.

Rubber, PVC, is the classic material for waterproof footwear, and have its own pros and cons.

Rubber materials are expensive, while PVC rain boots are affordable.

Rain boot made of rubber material are heavier than PVC rain boots.

If your market is mainly in cold winter, then I still recommend that you choose rubber materials. In winter, PVC rain boots are brittle and easy to crack. In freezing conditions, like snow or ice, the anti-slip effect is not as good as rubber rain boots.

However, there is currently a new material, TPE. It perfectly combines the advantages of rubber and PVC. TPE rain boots can still maintain softness in the cold winter and have a good anti-slip effect. They are lighter than PVC and are environmentally friendly. The biggest problem is the high price.

If your market has high-quality requirements and is not price-sensitive, then TPE material is a good choice.

5. Quantity

Usually, the MOQ for rain boots will be 1,000 pairs per color and style. This is mainly determined by the manufacturing process and your product packaging requirements. Why do rain boots have such a high minimum order quantity? I also mentioned it in my previous article. Welcome to my previous blog about what’s the MOQ for rain shoes.

For example, production order of 500 pairs of black work boots in a full set of sizes, there are no special packaging requirements, and you only need each pair to be packed with a hanging card and a plastic bag. This is no problem. Why? Because this design we produce almost every month, and there are stocks in the warehouse, so if you need them, we can send them to you within 10 days.

But if you need 500 pairs of women’s transparent Martin rain boots, a full set of sizes. The shoe factory may reject you. why?

The quality of transparent Martin boots is too high, and the scrap rate is too high. In my previous article, I wrote a blog post specifically about transparent Martin boots, you can check it out. For transparent rain boots, the minimum order quantity is 1,500 pairs.

2. Choose the right factory

1. Understand the rubber boots manufacturer you choose

If you want to know about the rain boots factory, you can go to the exhibition. However, if you feel that the cost of the exhibition is too high or you have no time to attend, the easiest and fastest channel is the Internet. At present, basically, every factory will display its factory through the online platform for customers to have an in-depth understanding of its factory and products.

When choosing a factory, you can consider the following key aspects:

1. Does the factory have the ability to meet your small batch needs? Is the factory responsible?

Not all factories will produce small batch orders of rain boots. Because the production procedures for small batch orders are the same as those for large batch orders, but the risks he bears are greater than those for large batches. Let me give you an example and you will understand.

On January 28, 2024, I just completed a batch of small batch orders. The unit price of this order is much higher than that of an ordinary order, about 10% higher. However, our factory delivers the goods at a loss. What is the reason for this?

Our original intention in taking this order was to hope that the customer would gradually become a big customer in the future. After all, this kind of thing has not happened before. right.

I quoted a MOQ price of 500 pairs, but the customer only had 420 pairs of each style, so the customer also expressed their sincerity in cooperation and said that an additional USD0.75/pair would be charged, and I agreed.

But as things developed, the situation exceeded our factory’s expectations. When I got the order, I found that the size ratio of the customer’s 420 pairs was not suitable. One shoe required two labels (my previous quotation was one label for one shoe, so the cost here was USD0.1/pair higher). It is also packed in a color box, with special copy paper and high-quality insoles.

If the order quantity is 4,200 pairs, then it is very good because the customer is in the high-end market and all the packaging is specially customized. But the quantity is too small and the requirements are too high, which makes this impossible. Especially for printing-related products such as color boxes and packaging paper, auxiliary material factories will have strict minimum order quantity requirements. I exhausted all communication and finally got the order. Of course, the cost was doubled, but I didn’t complain to the customer because I felt that since I had accepted the order, I had to do it well.

One of them is transparent Martin rubber boots. In a previous article, I specifically explained the high quality requirements for transparent rain boots. The order for this shoe was only 420 pairs, but we actually used about 900 pairs of materials for production. Because there are nearly 400 pairs of washing materials in the early stage alone, and there are also unqualified products in the middle. Therefore, it seems that the price is too high if the additional 10% is added, but in fact the factory suffers a loss.

2.Quality control

Does the factory’s quality control process meet your standards?

The standards of the quality process are fixed, and you can’t tell whether it helps your quality just by looking at the process. Only by placing an order for production can you have a direct feeling.

3. Minimum order quantity (MOQ)

Does the factory’s MOQ meet your needs? Some factories require a uniform MOQ of 3,000 pairs, or a MOQ of 1,000 pairs. Some factories may require a more humane MOQ, which is determined by the arrangement of machine orders.

If you have a small batch order, such as 500 pairs, or less, you can consider taking the existing products in our warehouse, and then you can add your own trademark or packaging. In this way, the price will be cheaper than ordering production. You only need to add the cost of packaging materials and workers’ packaging costs.

3. Quote and request samples

1. Initial communication

When contacting the factory, please clearly express your needs and request a detailed quotation.

2. Sample

Ask the factory to make samples according to your order requirements. This is an important step in assessing plant capabilities. It is also to prepare for future order production.

4. Order negotiation and contract

Negotiate with the factory for specific details of the order, including:

Production and delivery time

Confirm the production and delivery time of your order. Sometimes because it is a small batch, the factory will produce it together with other customers’ orders, so you need to confirm the time so that you can prepare for subsequent promotion.

  2. Quality standards

Regardless of the size of the order, quality standards need to be clear.

3. Payment terms

Work together to negotiate suitable payment terms.

5. The customer arranges the deposit and the factory arranges the production

Pay deposit: In most cases, the factory will not start production until it receives the deposit. This process is the same whether it is large batch or small batch production.

Production tracking: Please communicate with the factory regularly to track the production progress of your order. In order to grasp the order time.

As a reminder, in order for the order to be consistent with your requirements, you can ask the factory to show you the video or photos at any time after the accessories arrive. If there are any problems, they can be corrected in time. In this regard, the factory is quite willing to cooperate.

6. Logistics arrangements

Choose the logistics option that best suits your needs and confirm all relevant logistics details.

7. Follow-up service and long-term cooperation

Feedback: Share your feedback about the product and the entire purchasing process with the factory.

Establish a long-term relationship: If you are satisfied with the factory’s service, consider establishing a long-term relationship with it. After all, it is not easy to find a factory that is highly cooperative.

Successful small-volume purchasing is not just about finding a suitable supplier, but more importantly about clarifying your needs, maintaining good communication and ensuring quality control.
